C4 and five 'to merge' advertising sales

Channel 4 and five will merge their sales operations if Carlton and Granada get the go-ahead to form a single ITV, according to a Sunday Times article.
One source said: "The conversations have moved on from ‘what if?’ to ‘when and how’. I think if the ITV merger goes ahead, a single sales house for the other television players is inevitable."
Speculation that BSkyB and five would be interested in collaborating in the event of of an ITV merger has been rife, but this is the first reported link to Channel 4.
