'Mapmaker' wins at Amiens Festival

The Irish film, 'Mapmaker', written and directed by Johnny Gogan and produced by Grand Pictures, has won the Special Jury Prize at the prestigious Amiens International Film Festival in France.
Susan Lynch, who stars in the film has also just been nominated for an Irish Film and Television Academy Award as Best Actress in a Feature Film. 'Mapmaker' is an imaginative thriller set in the border landscape of the North-West of Ireland about a mapmaker who uncovers the mystery behind a man's disappearance years previously.
The film stars Brian F. O'Byrne, Susan Lynch and Brendan Coyle.
Released in Ireland by Eclipse Pictures last June, 'Mapmaker' is out on video in mid-December.
The film was produced with the support of the Irish Film Board, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, ZDF/ARTE, investment incentives for the Irish film industry provided by the Government of Ireland, the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission, and TV3 (Ireland).
