Video Email Marketing Puts New Broadcasting Technology In The Picture

iceni is delivering a worldwide video email campaign to promote affordable wireless video technology.
The innovation from The Boxx has been hailed as ‘revolutionary’ by broadcasters and is already being used in the field by the BBC, CBS and ABC. Delivering a quality picture through walls and floors with digital microwave links has only been available to major production companies and large outside broadcast firms in the past because of cost. The Boxx’s less expensive version of microwave technology means it’s now accessible to a much wider group of customers.
iceni is promoting the innovation to other media organisations and companies or groups who may have been interested in knowing more but were fearful of the cost. iceni director, Andi Jepson, said the email marketing campaign focused on the authority and credibility of the technology, and included a clip from a CBS ‘live to air’ news show.
He said: “Since distribution of the video e-mail, we are told demand is out-weighing supply for the equipment and interest has been generated with American and German suppliers.”
Designer and director of The Boxx, Scott Walker, said: “The cost of the system is so far removed from those on the market at the moment, ours being £4,000 as opposed to £30,000, that we needed a way to show our audience that low cost does not equate to low quality.
“To do that, we needed a cost-effective visual media that could spread the word, and the images, far and wide.
“Not only does the footage highlight the quality of the shoot, it gives us instant credibility being seen to be used by a high profile channel.
“iceni’s video email has attracted huge interest in our product, especially at NAB 2006 and other trade shows and exhibitions we attended as part of the initial marketing campaign.
“We’ve had enquiries from some end users we hadn’t thought of targeting such as eastern European broadcasters that simply couldn’t afford other wireless packages, race tracks and even wedding video companies.”
