Eyeheight Announces canalettoMDi Multidefinition Colour Corrector

The latest addition to the wide range of Eyeheight modular broadcast products and systems, canalettoMDi is a high-quality multidefinition digital colour corrector for use in 1080i and 720p HD-SDI television standards as well as 625i (PAL) and 525i (NTSC) SD.
Designed for graphics suites, editing facilities and transmission centres handling multiple line-rate sources, canaletto MDi incorporates HD-SDI/SDI autosensing which enables the unit to switch automatically to the incoming feed. Input and output are both to 1.5 gigabit/s HD-SDI SMPTE-274 standard or SDI. Each R, G and B channel has individually controllable gain, lift and gamma together with overall hue correction.
The gamut of possible YUV values is greater than the combinations that can be produced by combinations of RGB primary components. An integral legaliser with automatic luma overshoot suppression and undershoot control ensures that canalettoMDi's output conforms fully to EBU R103-2000 at all colour correction settings. Programme-makers and broadcasters working to non-EBU standards can alternatively set canalettoMDI's legalisation levels to their specific regional standards.
Based on Eyeheight's evolutionDT production platform, canalettoMDi incorporates an I-Bus interface allowing easy remote control or full automation. It employs full 10-bit processing and incorporates six flash-RAM user memories. canalettoMDi is available in half or full rack-width configurations. Two units can optionally be accommodated in the full-rack width version. Input line equalisation is provided.
Founded in 1992, Eyeheight (www.eyeheight.com) specialises in broadcast-quality television equipment. All Eyeheight systems are based on a standard modular platform for easy connection to other products in the range and to external automation. Based in Britain, Eyeheight is active in the Americas, Asia, Australasia and Europe through a worldwide network of specialist resellers.
