BBC TRAINING SETS BLOOMBERG STANDARD

TRAINING experts from BBC training and development returned this week after delivering an intensive two-day training session at the New York corporate headquarters of Bloomberg Television.
Bloomberg requested the training after the success of a similar course at their London operation earlier this year. The content was designed to build on the vision mixing, sound and lighting skills of the New York operations team and to provide them with a technical awareness of a studio environment for troubleshooting purposes. It took place over a weekend do that personnel were available and the studio equipment could be used.
Malcolm Nelson, Manager of Programme Skills Training and Development said: “We are constantly looking at new ways of training to meet new ways of working and it’s always exciting for us to rise to this kind of challenge. The Bloomberg schedule we action packed but we achieved all objectives and the enthusiasm of their operation team coupled with their willingness to experiment with new techniques helped to make the weekend both enjoyable and successful.”
Chris Behringer, Broadcast Manager at Bloomberg Television in New York said: “The BBC has a great reputation as a benchmark broadcaster and their training certainly backs this up. The trainers were professional and friendly and did an excellent job within a very tight timeframe, covering everything we requested in a clear and straightforward way. I would have no hesitation in recommending BBC training and Development to other programme makers.”
