ITN Re-launches Corporate Identity On Major Investment

ITN Multimedia, one of the UK's leading mobile, broadband and radio content providers has rebranded as ITN On.
The change underpins ITN's vision and commitment to delivering Right Content Right Now to all of its customers. The new identity is part of a wider company re-positioning, reflecting ITNs status as a leading provider of broadcast and new media content worldwide.
The new brand is designed to project the company's emergence as a global multimedia content business, building on its role as the UK's leading commercial news broadcaster. Since its inception, ITN On has led the way, launching the first video bulletins on 3 and launching the first made-for-mobile 24 hour news channel in the world 2005 and working with Channel 4 in the delivery of podcasts for its new radio site. Turnover in the business more than doubled year on year and, with the expected increase in use of 3G mobile phones, the business is well positioned to deliver substantial growth in the next few years.
On the back of this growth, ITN has also announced that it has received new investment of over 1m from its existing shareholders to accelerate the growth in its key multimedia units, ITN On and ITN Source, formally ITN Archive.
The new investment for ITN On will see: Technical enhancements to the current made-for-mobile news channel to sharpen the pace of the channel and the quality of output; and the launch of a new showcase website in the autumn, allowing customer and consumers to view examples of the ITN On packaged content directly.
Nicholas Wheeler, Managing Director ITN On said: "With the advent of podcasting, the worlds of radio, mobile, and broadband are converging rapidly. So it makes sense for all ITN's activities in these areas to come together as one business. Under ITN On we can look forward to making more pioneering steps in the multimedia world.
"The new company vision absolutely reflects what we do in ITN On. In a multimedia world people want right content right now and this is something our division has successfully delivered since it started, anticipating our customer needs even before they know themselves."
Mark Wood, ITN Chief Executive, said: "ITN is proud of its hard-won reputation for groundbreaking journalism and technical innovation. We have now also started to develop successful new media businesses which have the potential to deliver substantial revenue and margin growth in the years ahead.
"In a rapidly changing media environment consumers want access to content on an ever-increasing range of platforms and devices. ITN is ahead of the curve in anticipating and meeting these needs and we intend to keep it that way. The fresh and vibrant new company image reflects the energy and vigour which characterises the new ITN and our confidence in the company's ability to grow fast in the future."
