IMAGINE GRAPHICS OFFER ACCESSIBLE HDTV

News Image
AS TECHNOLOGY marches onwards, increasing end-user expectations create growing challenges.
Industries where quality is paramount, such as digital cinema and high-end AV applications, require a standard which exceed these expectations by providing stunning playback.
It was into this demanding environment that Imagine Graphics Ltd, UK-based specialists in computer display technology and digital video systems, launched HDFocus, the world’s first HDTV digital video PC decoder card, earlier this year.
Global organisations such as Pioneer Electronic (Europe), who placed the inaugural order for HDFocus, and Fujitsu General, have adopted the HDFocus card for use with their stylish plasma display panels. Smaller organisations have also been quick to take advantage of the full-length PCI card which gives unbelievably high definition video playback at 1920 x 1080i resolution from a PC’s hard disk. This is over 4 times the resolution of regular broadcast video!
Industries taking advantage of the quality benefits of this latest digital format include the retail, leisure, exhibition and presentation industries.
HDFocus plays back all 18 ATSC formats defined as the standard HDTV resolutions. This includes 6-channel surround sound (Dolby AC3) and the output of both RGB and YUV video formats. The RGB output is provided to drive high-end video projectors and monitors; the YUV output is suitable for broadcast applications. The card plays back up to 40Mbit/sec MPEG-2 transport streams, and is optimised for the standard 19.4Mbits/sec ATSC broadcast format. Several cards can be installed in a PC to provide multiple, frame-synchronised HDTV video and stereo audio outputs. A software developer kit for Windows NT is available to enable users to integrate HDFocus into their own HDTV server systems.
HDFocus has the added benefit of being able to drive all types of display, including the latest digital projectors, 16:9 plasma display panels and CRT displays.
This amazing technology is now within reach of even more organisations. Due to the high level of interest in HDFocus, Imagine Graphics has achieved savings in the early part of the product’s supply chain passing these on to their customers. The card now retails at £975.00 + VAT, a saving of around 60% on previous prices. Amazing audio and video output is now even greater value.
