BAFTA APPOINTS NEW MEDIA SPECIALIST
BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) have appointed a new Awards Officer to take charge of the Academy’s Interactive Entertainment sector.
Joy Barrett will take immediate responsibility for this year’s BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Awards, as well as spearheading the drive to attract new members from all sectors of the Interactive Entertainment industry.
BAFTA’s Deputy Executive Director Amanda Berry said: “I know Joy was particularly attracted by the challenge of building the interactive profile of the Academy. We all know the growth of the sector is going to be dramatic and the BAFTA Awards will be at the heart of the drive for excellence.”
Barrett who was responsible for Television and New Media Co-productions at the Banff Centre, has an English BA with a diploma in Desktop Publishing and Design.
This year’s Awards ceremony in association with ICL is to be held at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on October 26.
