FOR-A to show new products for the first time in Europe at Broadcast LIVE 2006

On the back of a highly successful NAB, FOR-A, a leading manufacturer of digital SD and HD systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, will use Broadcast LIVE to showcase its suite of frame converters, digital video switchers and signal processors.
Built from the ground up for broadcast and post applications, this will be the European launch of its FRC-7000, FA-9000 and HVS-500HS systems.
Reflecting FOR-A’s heritage in video processing technology, the FRC-7000 is a high definition frame rate converter which satisfies two industry problems associated with frame rate converters: the inability to perform judder-free conversion on moving objects, and the processing of scene changes without ghosting or interpolation. The FRC-700’s feature set, which includes its motion compensation and scene cut detection functions, allows it to directly address these problems that face broadcasters and post houses.
Targeted at post houses, broadcasters and outside broadcast companies, the FA-9000 is a versatile signal processor that gives customers the ability to handle and convert almost every possible TV format - including HD, SD, analogue, digital and audio. Its12-bit internal processing means the highest quality images. Additional functionality includes DV/HDV options, an up/down converter, colour corrector, noise reducer, logo generator and a Dolby-E decoder – all in a compact 1RU crate.
The HVS-500HS is an economical, flexible, compact and self-contained switcher that accepts HD, SD, HDV and DV formats. It comes with 10-bit, 4:2:2 internal processing, and is well suited for applications such as editing, studio production, mobile production, up-link vans, live production, broadcast television and live staging. The HVS-500HS will begin shipping to customers in July.
The VPS-700 GINGA has enjoyed phenomenal success since its launch at IBC 2005, having sold over 100 units around the world. The new FOR-A vision mixer enables operators to be more creative in live production and editing suites.
An extension to its successful Hanabi 1 M/E HD/SD switchable mixer range, the HVS-3800HS allows broadcasters to switch between formats as the industry gradually moves into HD broadcasting.
HVS-1000HS is a digital video switcher, which enables broadcasters to easily switch from SD to HD. Part of the Hanabi family, the HVS-10000HS provides performance, quality and practicality in a compact, easy to use and low-cost package.
