News Image
Sony Broadcast and Professional Europe (Sony BPE) will use the IBC 2000 exhibition to showcase their latest technological advances in digital and broadcast technology.
They plan to unveil a series of additions to their DVCAM family, designed to offer superb digital picture quality intended for applications such as electronic news gathering, video journalism, corporate post-production and professional videography.
New this year are the J-1 and J-2 Compact Players, extending the Betacam SX and MPEG IMX player line up. These new players are the world’s smallest ever Betacam-family players.
Other new products include the DVD Premastering Encoder (DVA-V700) hardware encoders in PC card form. Designed to be among the easiest and most effective solutions to implement.
Sony have extended their DTF-2 tape drive family by introducing two new drive models in order to facilitate the adoption of digital asset management systems by video archives.
CineAlta technology will also be on display at the conference. Based on 24p technology, CineAlta is designed for use in film-mastering and high quality production.
The MSW-2000P Series IMX studio editing recorder is another of the latest developments from Sony. This forms part of a complete line-up of MPEG IMX products operating at 50Mb/s. The MPEG IMX series tape recorders are designed to operate at the heart of studio infrastructures based on MPEG-2 4:2:2P@ML at 50Mb/s format.
Routers and processors have been a major area of development for Sony BPE over the past year. IBC will see the introduction of a new high definition, SDI and multi-format product series, which can be applied in all applications requiring standard definition video and audio processors.
Sony will also announce their new HKPF Series offering high quality signal processing.
Sony BPE, IBC stand number 11.340.
