NTL APPOINT BROADCASTER AS OPERATIONS MANAGER
AFTER a lengthy career at Granada Media, Joe Barry has joined NTL’s Broadcast Division as Operations Manager, Media Solutions.
Barry takes responsibility for all NTL’s terrestrial transmission, play-out and satellite uplinking operations which includes ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and over 130 other analogue and digital television channels.
Barry said: “My time at Granada has been enormously challenging and very rewarding. NTL now offers a new set of challenges in the converging digital world, I’m really looking forward to bringing my studio and operations experience into ntl which is extending its services right back to the programme source.”
NTL is becoming increasingly active in the programme presentation and playout arena.
In addition to full-time distribution services, the company’s satellite services also include ‘occasional’ contribution feeds and production facilities for news, sport and special events.
