LORNA DOONE ON LOCATION IN MID WALES

Mid Wales Film Commission are currently filming a new BBC Films version of the classic novel, ‘Lorna Doone’.
Martin Clunes, Barbara Flynn, Aiden Gillen and Michael Kitchen are amongst the stars filming at a specially constructed village at Craig Cwm and Du, high in the hills above Brecon.
Lorna Doone is played by 18 year old Amelia Warner, who has already played opposite Michael Caine and she also starred in the recently broadcast BBC drama ‘Waking The Dead’.
Local workers helped create the ‘Doone Valley’ location, and the local job centre also advertised for the numerous extras required.
Mike Wallwork Mid Wales Film Commissioner said: “We have been working with BBC Films and their location managers for some time, encouraging them to come and use locations in this region. Now Mid Wales will reap the benefits of having such a large crew living here for weeks at a time, with them all injecting cash into local businesses, shops, hotels and restaurants.”
This two part adaptation of the novel is due to be broadcast on BBC One this coming Christmas.
