Somethin' Else Programming goes global

Somethin’ Else, the UK’s largest cross-platform production company, has recently won two major new radio commissions to provide programming for leading international radio broadcasters.
The two commissions, one for the BBC World Service and one for the Worldspace, satellite radio network, is a significant move forward for the company, providing global content on a mass scale for the first time in its history.
The BBC commission, 'Over To You', is a brand new weekly audience feedback show, presented by respected broadcaster and journalist Rajan Datar. The 52 x 20 minute contract, one of the largest the World Service make available to independent producers, is initially for 12 months and begins in April.
The series will be produced by Lucy Dichmont and exec produced by Somethin' Else's Head Of BBC Radio Production Matt Hall.
In addition, U-Pop the global satellite pop channel, broadcast on XM Satellite Radio in the USA and the Worldspace satellite radio network across the globe, including in the USA on XM Satellite Radio, will be broadcasting the UK's biggest weekly singles chart, hit40uk. The deal follows the hugely successful global live broadcasts by XM & WorldSpace of the BRITs 2006 from Earl's Court, produced by Somethin' Else.
