TELE-CINE EXTEND TRANSMISSION CAPABILITIES

TELE-CINE, the UK’s post production and broadcast facility, have installed a second full-time satellite uplink service, extending their global reach to South America via the Telstar 12 satellite platform.
Tele-Cine currently broadcast distance learning content for US-based etNetworks to business users across Europe on Eutelsat are set to expand their new service extending their transmissions for Cisco and IBM in South America.
Director of Satellite Operations at etNetworks, Mike Wright said: “The new service is in response to the growing requirements of our clients to reach a global audience. Once again we can rely on Tele-Cine’s ability to respond quickly to these needs.”
Using a temporary solution provided by SNG Broadcast Services, Tele-Cine were able to get the IP streamed video service up and running within a few days while the purpose-built satellite dish was being installed.
Digitally compressed and IP encapsulated channels from etNetworks are already being distributed in the US via satellite. The channels are accessed through Teleglobe’s satellite earth station in Canada before being transmitted via fibre optic cable to their London switching centre at Tele-Cine.
