UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ORDER QUANTEL IQ
UNIVERSAL Studios have ordered a Quantel iQ to produce HD programming.
The system will be installed in Universal’s post production facility early next year.
Michael Daruty, Universal Studios Operations Groups Senior Vice President of Technical Operations, said: “We are excited to finally see a system that allows material to be stored and edited in its original format. Working in native HD and outputting to our required standards while maintaining image quality is an important factor to us. In fact the iQ will allow us to have a multi-purpose, multi-function suite all out of one system which is attractive to us since we are limited in the amount of space we occupy.”
Universal Studios have been using an Editbox with Chaser for HD post for almost nine months. The Quantel iQ will be an entirely self-contained non-linear HD suite when it is commissioned next year.
