International Interactive Emmy Award nominations announced

Nominations for the first International Interactive Emmy Awards have been announced by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
There are 12 nominees in three categories: Interactive Programme, Interactive Channel and Interactive TV Service. 'Desperate Housewives' star Roger Bart will host the first International Interactive Emmy Awards at MIPTV, on April 5 in Cannes, France.
“We are very pleased to be announcing these nominees who will become the benchmark for a new standard of excellence in interactive television,” said Bruce Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy. “We look forward to establishing the International Interactive Emmy Awards as the premiere platform for the interactive television community to celebrate their achievements.”
In addition to the presentation of the International Interactive Emmy Awards for programme, channel and service, the International Academy will present a special award: The Pioneer Prize, which is not an Emmy but a special initiative from the Academy which honours an industry personality or organisation. The first Pioneer Prize will be presented to Jonathan F. Miller, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at AOL, for his innovative contributions to the field of interactive television.
