NEW WINESKIN FOR GOD CHANNEL’S BIRTHDAY

COFOUNDERS of the God Channel Rory and Wendy Alec have launched their new digital image in the form of GOD digital on the channel’s fifth birthday.
At the ministry’s live fifth birthday edition of ‘Behind the Screens’ got under way a computer-generated graphic superimposed ‘The Dream Family Network’s’ new digital image onto the blue floor to ceiling chroma key background.
The live show featured three operational firsts for the two new channels and three award firsts were announced during the birthday celebration show.
The network has transmitted conferences live from around the world since last year. It was the first time they used their main Studio One facility at their Stonehill studio complex in Gateshead to film a live show. This was then transmitted to the ‘Sirius2’ satellite via the networks earth station uplink in north east England.
It was announced there will be an addition of two services to the multi channel line-up transmitted via Sirius2 and received via free digital set-top boxes.
A moving moment for the Alecs came from Annie Chikhwaza who runs the network’s sponsored orphanage for forty AIDS orphans in Malawi. When first launching the GOD Channel, the Alecs did not have the £750 necessary for the ITC licence. But a supporter who runs an orphanage in Malawi pressed the sum of money into their hands. Since then the network has been able to support the Malawian orphanage with £77,000.
