AUDIX LAUNCH NEW POST PRODUCTION MIXER

AUDIX’S new digital Post Production mixer is the latest addition to the popular and highly specified ADD Series of digital broadcast consoles.
Designed to meet the specific demands of audio post-production in a video editing environment, this fourteen channel console provides a faster, simpler and more intuitive control surface than any of the general purpose assignable digital consoles currently on the market. A number of specialist post-production facilities are incorporated in the ADD8000 such as two assignable equalisers, stereo width controls, MS decoding, and fader overpress PFL on every channel. The console also provides comprehensive channel routing and two programme outputs plus a stereo auxiliary output, switchable pre or post fade. Serial data or tally protocols from a video edit controller can be used to control automated crossfading and record/rehearse switching, for seamless integration within the editing suite.
A major strength of ADD Series consoles is an instinctive and user-friendly ‘WYSIWYG’ control surface. There are no menu screens, no multifunction buttons, no confusing assignability and, most important of all, no learning curve. The ADD8000, like its junior siblings, implements a ‘knob-per-function’ philosophy which is so well proven in fast-turnaround and live broadcast production environments. In addition, all ADD series consoles are configurable in their Audio I/O structure and have provision for integrated analogue and digital routing systems as well as Audix Broadcast’s own ATM real-time digital networking solution.
