Eyeheight introduces legalEyesMDI multidefinition legaliser

Latest addition to the Eyeheight range of video legalisers, the new multidefinition legalEyesMDi accepts 1080i and 720p HD as well as 625i PAL and 525i NTSC SD.
Based on Eyeheight's recently-introduced evolutionDT platform, legalEyesMDi automatically senses and adapts to the incoming signal format.
Occupying a compact half-U, the new legaliser is designed for standalone and rack-mounted applications. It enables programme producers and editors to ensure that the level of their video signals remains within the strict tolerances required for HD and SD transmission to air and DVD mastering.
Levels can be monitored continuously and manually or automatically corrected.
Eyeheight's legalEyesMDi is easy to operate, being controllable direct from its front panel or remotely. User adjustments include hard and soft clipping levels, luma gain, chroma gain and black level. Settings can be stored in eight power-protected user memories.
legalEyesMDi incorporates high speed Ethernet connectivity allowing easy interfacing to third-party control systems. Its introduction comes at a time when programme makers worldwide are progressing from SD into HD origination and post-production to meet the introduction of new HD television broadcast channels and the impending launch of domestic HD video disk players.
