P.D. James to give first of VLV's 2006 celebrity lectures

P. D. James, (Baroness James) the renowned crime novelist and former BBC Governor will give the first of VLV's 2006 celebrity lectures at the British Academy, 10 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1 on Tuesday 31 January.
The event will start with a wine reception and book signing by Lady James at 6.30pm in the gracious Mall Room of this historic Regency building overlooking St James's Park and the Royal Mall.
Tickets cost £25 each which includes a wine reception from 6.30pm.
John Simpson, the BBC's Diplomatic Editor, will give the second lecture in the series at One Whitehall Place, London SW1, on Tuesday 28 March.
Simpson will speak and take questions about his life, travels and experiences in some of the world's hottest spots and areas of conflict.
Tickets cost £25 each which includes a wine reception and book signing session from 6.30pm.
A concert of light music by the BBC Elstree Concert Band will play on Sunday 26 March.
The BBC Elstree Concert Band, under the baton of their Musical Director, Mike Crisp, will give their 12th annual concert of popular light music in aid of the Voice of the Listener Trust.
The concert will be held, by kind permission of the BBC, at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios, close to Maida Vale tube station.
The concert will start at 4pm with refreshments available beforehand.
