PCI Express-based EDIUS NX offers real-time mixed HD/SD video editing solution from Canopus

Canopus’ new PCI Express-based EDIUS NX real-time mixed HD/SD video editing solution takes advantage of the affordability and high performance of new dual-core CPU computer systems featuring PCI Express (PCIe) interfaces.
“By supporting PCI Express slots common on the new dual-core capable platforms, the PCIe version of EDIUS NX makes the speed and versatility of dedicated NLE hardware affordable to both SD and HD editors,” said Hiro Yamada, founder and chairman of the board of Canopus. “And since EDIUS NX provides native editing and real-time processing of a variety of SD and HD formats, editors who haven’t yet made the move to HD can use EDIUS NX now, and continue to use it when they finally do make the transition to HD.” With EDIUS NX, Canopus continues to redefine productivity and affordability with ground-breaking, tightly integrated software and hardware video solutions. At the heart of EDIUS NX is Canopus’ acclaimed EDIUS Pro editing software, providing real-time, mixed format editing of uncompressed SD, HD, HDV, DV, MPEG-2, and MPEG-1 formats. EDIUS Pro delivers superb quality without compromising real-time performance through the company’s acclaimed variable-bitrate Canopus HQ codec technology. EDIUS NX PCIe will ship with a new software version - EDIUS Pro 3.6 - with support for JVC’s 720p (24/25/30) and Canon’s 1080/24 formats.
EDIUS NX with PCI Express compatibility is shipping in Europe for £749 plus VAT, including EDIUS Pro software.
