UK MEDIA TEAM LAUNCH NEW WEBSITE

UK MEDIA Team, who have offices in Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff and London, have launched their new industry website, www.mediadesk.co.uk.
The site features news, training opportunities, information on grants and loans that are available, useful links and searchable information which can be viewed from a UK perspective or specific to the regions of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
Rosie Ellison of Scottish MEDIA Antenna, who co-ordinate the Scottish information for the site, said: "The new web-site is providing a dynamic and flexible method for communicating with people in the audio-visual sector. Until this site went live we were producing a quarterly newsletter, which ran to 30 pages, and it was still difficult to keep people up-to-date with developments in the industry. The website allows immediate updating of relevant information. Although we had a website before, it was quite a static affair. And it didn't include any of the training information, which so many of our prospective browsers are interested in. The new site has an enormous amount of quality information on it for any one who is interested in the media sector."
MEDIA say the new site provides both a complete picture of what is happening in the UK, and offers separate pages for England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
Each regional MEDIA desk will create and maintain the news and information on the site.
The site has been created by Screenbase Media Productions, an Edinburgh film production and Multimedia company also responsible for edinfilm.com, the site of Edinburgh Film Focus. This site provides film location information for the Scottish capital in the same way that www.glasgowfilm.org.uk has been promoting Glasgow as a place to shoot films.
