MACROVISION SIGNS TWO-YEAR DEAL WITH SIRIO VIDE ITALIA

MACROVISION UK have announced that Sirio Vide Italia S.r.l. have signed an agreement to copy protect 100 per cent of their Home Video DVD titles.
Corrado Parigi, Managing Director of Sirio Vide Italia S.r.l., said: “DVD represents a new technical frontier which brings with it a particular need to address the issues of piracy and consumer copying. As a result, Sirio Vide Italia have chosen to protect their investment by using Macrovision’s Copy Protection on all their DVDs.”
Macrovision’s DVD copy protection is designed to prevent unauthorised copying of DVD programming to videocassettes without impacting the original picture. It is used on most DVD players to VCRs. It is also used by the majority of Motion Pictures Association (MPA) studios, as well as corporate, educational and special interest rights owners. Worldwide, over 280 million DVDs, three billion videocassettes, and 45 million digital set top boxes have utilised Macrovision’s video copy protection technology.
