SCOTTISH SCREEN TO HOLD TRAINING DAYS

SCOTTISH Screen have announced a series of short industry courses to be run in January.
Held at Scottish Screen’s Glasgow offices, and taught by leading Scottish Production Manager Susie Brown, the two-day courses cost between £110 and £195, and will focus on differing aspects of budgeting and scheduling for drama productions.
‘Basic Budgeting and Scheduling for Drama’ on January 16 and January 17, will instruct participants on how to break down a short script and create a strip board from scratch. Participants will be asked to produce a budget based on the schedule to achieve a realistic costing of a film's production.
’Scheduling for Drama using Movie Magic’ on January 23 and January 24, will examine computer script break down and scheduling for drama productions. Aimed at participants already in the film and television industry who have a good understanding of scheduling, the course incorporates both the principles and the practical aspects of working with Movie Magic Scheduling software.
‘Budgeting for Drama using Movie Magic’ on January 30 and January 31, is a computer budgeting course aimed at industry practitioners with an understanding of budgeting. This course will incorporate both the principles of computer budgeting as well as practical tips and methods on working with Movie Magic Budgeting software.
Further information on these courses is available from Paul Logue at Scottish Screen on Tel: +44 (0)141 302 1767. (GB)
