Sony Pictures Digital partners with Kayak Interactive

Sony Pictures Digital has signed a worldwide multi-year agreement with Kayak Interactive, a leading global mobile entertainment publisher.
With this deal in place, Kayak Interactive will develop, publish and market mobile games based on select Sony Pictures Entertainment licensed properties. The first two games in development will be based on the upcoming motion picture ‘The Da Vinci Code’, and will be available close to the nationwide release of the film on May 19, 2006.
From director, Ron Howard, producer Brian Grazer and writer Akiva Goldsman, the Oscar-winning team of ‘A Beautiful Mind’, comes the film version of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, one of the most popular and talked about novels of our time, with a cast headed by two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Jean Reno, Sir Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina and Paul Bettany. Produced by Grazer and John Calley, The Da Vinci Code, begins with a spectacular murder in the Louvre Museum. All clues point to a covert religious organisation that will stop at nothing to protect a secret that threatens to overturn 2,000 years of accepted dogma.
"Kayak Interactive brings an incredible skill and a strong track record in creating popular mass market mobile game experiences," said Mike Arrieta, Senior Vice President of Sony Pictures Digital Sales and Marketing. "We plan to leverage that expertise and momentum to bring select Sony-licensed properties to life at people's fingertips," added Ira Rubenstein, Senior Vice President of Sony Pictures Digital Sales and Marketing. "We're thrilled to work with Sony Pictures Digital to bring highly compelling properties, such as The Da Vinci Code, to mobile consumers around the world," said Keith McCurdy, CEO and President of Kayak Interactive. "Sony Pictures Digital is a leader in mobile content and we are delighted to participate in bringing their portfolio to market."
