BBC Post Production work to reinforce 'The Weakest Link'

BBC Post Production have won a contract for the fifth series of 'The Weakest Link', based on the creation of new working methods and a dedicated work area for the landmark series.
For the first time, the series will be edited entirely online and will dispense with the traditional method of editing offline, conforming and editing online. Despite the graphics-heavy element of the show, BBC Post Production proved that they could maintain consistent quality during an innovative pilot conducted in January this year. This non-linear approach will allow for greater efficiencies including time and cost savings for the production team.
As part of the deal, BBC Post Production have also created a dedicated work environment for The Weakest Link - a self-contained mini facilities house containing three Avid suites, linked on a Unity shared media storage system, as well as a new post production office.
A team of highly experienced Avid Editors have been brought on board to post produce the entertainment show. With experience across other genres they are expected to bring a fresh perspective and new approach.
The production team will also have a single point of contact with an Avid assistant that will run the facility full-time.
