IRISH COMPANIES CREATE REALITY TV FORMATS

NORTHERN Ireland based TV company, Extreme Production, and Dublin’s web portal Oxygen have announced their intention to work together on a variety of 'Reality TV' formats.
Managing Director of Extreme, David Malone, said: As TV and the internet become even closer, it makes sense for TV companies and New Media businesses to combine their skills. Extreme and Oxygen are committed to creating new formats that work equally well on both TV and the web.”
The Extreme and Oxygen alliance have created a number of original formats, which are currently under negotiations with broadcasters in Britain and Ireland.
Oxygen currently produces ‘No 54’, a web-based reality TV soap which features the lives, loves and disappointments of five university students. The apartment is covered by eight webcams that follow the students every move, and the action is broadcast live over the internet.
Extreme Production are currently filming ‘Animals Undercover’ for BBC One NI, a 10 x 30’ observational documentary series charting operations to recover dangerous and abused animals. Recent credits include: ‘Country Practice’, ‘Dovetales’ and ‘The Corrs in Concert’.
Extreme Production now expect to expand their operations via the upcoming Reality TV formats.
