MCMILLAN INSTALL AVID FACILITIES FOR PEAKVIEWING

MCMILLAN, broadcast, AV and communication specialists are installing a new state-of-the-art post production facility that will constitute one of the largest Avid-equipped facilities in the UK.
The installation, carried out by Peakviewing Transatlantic, is a tailored production and editing suite in a purpose converted part of their UK headquarters in Gloucestershire.
The McMillan installation is for a new sector, ‘viewing4leisure’, launched within their operation in the lower floor of the company’s premises in a converted water mill.
The newly-formed division will produce an extensive series of short five minute programmes predominantly for the leisure and tourism industry. Twenty presenters and crews are despatched worldwide in order to obtain locational footage on subjects ranging from golf courses to extreme sports. The programmes are to be used for broadcast on the web, cable and satellite, as well as for traditional terrestrial television formats.
McMillan have also been consulted to equip a Cardiff-based branch of the company, producing children’s programmes, with AVID Media Composer and Avid Xpress suites.
As AVID Premier Resellers, McMillan have carried out vast installation of almost 20 Avid products. Included is a Symphony Universal high-end finishing system, a Softimage DS to allow video creation and special effects, two Media Composers for online editing and more that a dozen Avid Xpress for creating high quality digital media.
