THE MACHINE Room have recently installed a Philips Shadow telecine.
Fully digital, with a plug in HD solution, the Shadow Telecine unit uses a high speed CCD line array to deliver stable, high-quality images.
Designed by the award-winning team behind the Philips Spirit, Shadow offers many of the same advanced characteristics, using high-resolution optics and improved light-path technology to ensure excellent signal to noise performance and film scratch suppression to produce stunning pictures.
Machine Room Director Danny Whybrow sees Shadow as the key to providing clients with a cost-effective solution for high-end telecine. He says: “Since the Shadow was installed in October, we have completed several feature film and broadcast projects for a variety of clients with fantastic results – people have been extremely impressed with how the quality compares to Spirit, at such an accessible price.”
Shadow enables The Machine Room to maintain the versatile range of services that has become the company’s trademark.
The Machine Room is the only UK facility to offer an on-site Treatment Centre for the restoration and cleaning of film, as well as DVD mastering, linear online editing, video duplication and standards conversion.
