Scopus Network Technologies change name to Scopus Video Networks

Scopus Network Technologies has renamed the company as Scopus Video Networks.
The company says that the name change embodies and highlights Scopus’ vision as a leading provider of digital video networking products that deliver video over broadcast and broadband, IP-based networks.
“With the introduction of new bandwidth-intensive services, such as HDTV, personalized content and mobile video, we expect video networks will become increasingly complex and bandwidth constrained,” commented Ovadia Cohen, Scopus VP Marketing and co-founder. “These trends favor vendors, such as Scopus, who can offer products with leading performance, features and management capabilities.
Scopus CEO, David Mahlab said: "As telecom service providers gain experience offering video services, they will look to focused vendors, like us, to enhance the quality and efficiency of their networks.
“Scopus strategy is to extend its’ technology leadership while maintaining focus on digital video networking.
“Our expertise and intellectual property in broadcast-quality video compression, decoding, processing and network management are our critical differentiators. “Furthermore, we intend to focus on digital video networking, which we view to be our core competency."
