CELTIC AUDIO ANNOUNCE NEW SPEAKER RANGE

CELTIC Audio, designers of sound equipment for broadcast and mixing studios, have announced the launch of the new range of Legend active loudspeakers for high-end installations.
The new range of speakers incorporates individual amplifiers for both low and high frequency drivers with active, phase accurate, crossover networks. Careful attention to timing and phase processing, together with Celtic Audio’s patented LF technology ensures that the Legend speaker exhibits a smooth, precise sound over a wide frequency range extending from 20Hz to over 20KHz. This results in realistic-sounding and accurate reproduction for both stereo and multi-channel surround sound systems.
Richard Salter, Technical Director of Celtic Audio said: “The design team have spent many years learning about human psycho-acoustic response and have applied the results to both electronic and mechanical development resulting in the most realistic and phase-accurate reproduction possible. Time and time again, listeners have commented on how true-to-life these speakers sound and how clearly the position of the instruments can be identified.”
The first product, the Legend I, is available in a compact 250mm square by 500mm high enclosure, incorporating LF and HF drivers and matched amplifiers, needing only a high-quality preamplifier source from a Hi-Fi preamp or A/V processor to achieve superb reproduction. The finish is craftsman quality wood veneer in a range of styles, and other finishes are also possible to suit interior design specifications. Despite its small size, the Legend achieves sound levels sufficient for most studio or domestic uses with very little constraint on placement of loudspeakers, due to the ‘point-source’ sound radiation technology employed.
Further products are currently under development, including larger versions for professional use and an interior design concept loudspeaker system that can be matched with or incorporated into room settings to provide unobtrusive, audiophile reproduction.
Based in Hampshire, Celtic Audio was formed in 1997 by John Watkinson and Richard Salter together with David Lambert. (GB)
