Advanced Broadcast Services choose Pinnacle Systems

Advanced Broadcast Services is using Pinnacle Systems’ MediaStream 8000 server to help double channel capacity as it swells from 15 to 30.
Situated at Advanced Broadcast Services’ West London headquarters, the flexible MediaStream 8000 delivers up to 100 channels with each chassis capable of 16 input/output channels, plus integration with other Pinnacle and third party products including archiving and automation systems.
Advanced Broadcast Services has already filled six of its 15 new channels for leading international Bollywood broadcaster B4U. MediaStream centralises B4U’s playout operations and transmits feeds to the Sky digital platform in the UK, cable and satellite networks in Europe and the Middle East, Echostar for the USA, MultiChoice for Africa and FTA cable for India.
“MediaStream 8000 helps us remain competitive by significantly reducing our overheads on every channel and is so reliable, it eliminates the need for excessive engineering support,” says MD of Advanced Broadcast Services Sass Jahani. “Following an extensive evaluation of our options, we chose Pinnacle’s solution for its superior file transfer functionality and attractive price.”
“As the playout industry becomes more consolidated and competitive, creating a lean operation is critical to maintain and increase market share,” says Pinnacle Systems’ MD, VP EMEA, Richard Scott. “Pinnacle enjoys a six-year legacy of providing servers to Advanced Broadcast Services and its latest MediaStream 8000 will continue to drive efficient workflows and ongoing business success.”
