SENNHEISER BASKS IN BEACH FEVER SPECIALS

FOLLOWING the success of Channel 5’s studio based ‘Night Fever’ celebrity karaoke game show, the production team packed 15 channels of Sennheiser RF and headed off to the white sands of Magaluf in Majorca to record four seasonal specials.
The wireless systems were provided by Cine Video Audio Hire Division, under the control of Video Sound Services Ltd (VSSL).
VSSL Sound Director Robert Edwards explained the more serious choice of the RF system, saying: “We’ve always used SKM 5000 microphones in the studio for ‘Night Fever.’ Sennheiser RF products are very reliable and when you’re recording in the hot sun on a beach in Majorca, you need to be confident that everything is going to work with a minimum of fuss. For these shows we use a 15 channel system, combining the SKM 5000 handhelds with two racks of EM 1046 multi-channel receiver systems.”
The shows were hosted by Suggs (of Madness fame), along with two new co-hosts, Danielle Nicholls (presenter on CITV) and Kieron Elliot.
The Beach Fever specials feature a wealth of celebrity guests including Keith Chegwin, Anna Ryder Richardson, Frank Bruno, Gail Porter and Sid Owen.
Disco legends ‘Tavares’ jazz up the boogie factor with live performances of hits. Each act is judged by comedy duo Trevor and Simon, playing two out-of-touch holiday reps. (GB)
