Advanced Broadcast Services to showcase enhanced playout facilities at IBC 2005

Advanced Broadcast Services, an independent provider of low-cost, full-service playout, transmission and broadcast facilities, will be at IBC 2005 to meet new and existing broadcasters looking for the best way to transmit their programmes.
Advanced Broadcast Services, which transmits a mix of ethnic, teleshopping and general entertainment channels, is ideal for both niche broadcasters and mainstream channels running secondary and sub-segmented brands. It runs up to 30 channels simultaneously for global transmission to some 60 million households worldwide.
The facilities have recently been enhanced with the addition of a Sony PetaSite data library. This gives it a massive capacity of 35,000 hours of MPEG2 video, making it ideal for clients who want large amounts of material, such as movies, stored at the playout site.
Advanced Broadcast Services was one of the first fully server-based, state-of-the-art playout centres in Europe. By employing the latest technology in an innovative configuration it is able to deliver a lower cost structure combined with the highest levels of reliability and versatility.
The company has also developed the remote playout concept which allows a channel to take full control of its playlist, live from anywhere in the world. This means content can be ingested remotely and transferred over the internet to the playout centre in London for final transmission. International channels transmitting out of the UK can manage their content remotely and more specifically, sell commercials locally and get them to air within hours.
