CLIPSTER, Pronto2K and DVS-SAN at IBC 2005

Boosted by increased acceptance and corresponding worldwide sales, DVS' 'DI team' will go to IBC 2005 with a strengthened feature-set for enhancing the digital intermediate.
With new features based on version 2.0 software, CLIPSTER provides valuable conforming, versioning and film finishing tools for both editors and colourists. CLIPSTER provides the highest level of quality and performance too, processing uncompressed video in 4K RGB 12bit, with 2K RGB 12bit transitions in real-time. Its 4K capability positions CLIPSTER at the leading edge. CLIPSTER is highly flexible, offering multiple video formats in an open file system. CLIPSTER performs primary and secondary colour correction, pan-and-scan, rotation, flip/flop, cropping and transitions in real-time. The OpenFX plug-in interface accepts a huge range of additional 3rd party effects.
To get the right 'film look' during grading, CLIPSTER version 2.0 uses a real-time 3D look-up-table and supports colour management tools from Kodak and Arri.
When teamed-up with DVS-SAN, DVS' premium real-time central DI storage, production throughput really takes off.
DVS-SAN has been designed exclusively for use in the film and HD postproduction environment, where large amounts of data must be accessed by multiple workstations, each requiring ultra-high data-rates and fast access times. The RAID5 Fibre Channel protected storage system handles multiple real-time streams of uncompressed film 2K, making HD, 2K and 4K conforming, colour grading and finishing work fast and extremely efficient. The system is upward-scaleable to many tens of terabytes and so offers enough storage capacity for several concurrent film projects.
The DVS product line-up of CLIPSTER, DVS-SAN and the high-performance digital disk recorder Pronto2K forms a dedicated DI team offering high intrinsic bandwidth, flexibility and file-sharing capabilities to boost data throughput and availability in the production cycle.
DVS Digital Video Systems GmbH with its headquarters in Hanover, Germany, is a leading manufacturer of high-performance digital video products for film, TV, postproduction and R&D. DVS offers a wide range of high-end video turnkey solutions - from disk recorders and storage systems, to conforming and finishing systems for high-end film work. DVS products are recognised as a reference for quality, reliability and performance. The company has a large OEM customer base, too: numerous leaders in the industry integrate DVS' powerful video I/O boards into their own products.
