THE HIVE APPOINT CHILD TO ANIMATION TEAM

THE HIVE, 3D CG animation and effects facility, have selected Dave Child to work with their 15-strong animation team.
Child’s previous work at Rushes and Cinesite includes: ‘Waterworld’, ‘SpaceJam’, ‘Event Horizon’, ‘The Avengers’ and ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, as well as character work for the Cadbury’s ‘Coronation Street’ commercials.
Dave Southwood, Managing Director at The Hive, is pleased that Child will have the opportunity to add to The Hive’s recent portfolio of work, including Fatboy Slim and Macy Gray’s ‘Demons’ promo, Channel 4’s ‘Poisoned’ and a new 3D CG animated series for pre-school children, ‘Busy Buses’, for commissioning partnership TV4C.
Southwood said: “In less than a year since The Hive’s birth we have assembled what I believe is probably the strongest CG Animation team working in London and I think that attracting Dave into the fold is evidence of how strong we are.”
In moving to The Hive, Child is looking forward to working in an animation-based environment, where the bigger team will allow a greater degree of specialisation leading, in turn, to an opportunity to do increasingly demanding work on a wider range of products. (CD)
