Escape Studios appointed as first European reseller and training centre for Autodesk's Toxik

Escape Studios has been appointed by Autodesk as an authorised reseller and certified systems training centre for Autodesk Toxik collaborative compositing software for digital visual effects.
Escape Studios will sell Toxik to UK customers and provide training for customers throughout Europe. The deal represents Autodesk’s first appointment in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
“Toxik is a new breed of software that has been lacking in the industry until now and has the potential to change the way the industry produces visual effects,” said Mark Cass, business development director, Escape Studios. “By providing training, sales and support, we’ll be able to both deliver Toxik and get customers up and running with it much more quickly.”
The Toxik training course will be Escape Studios’ first Autodesk training course and their facilities will allow customers to train in compositing for film using real-word production footage in a multi-user collaborative environment.
“Escape Studios has an exceptional reputation for 3D and compositing training and can provide the right environment for Toxik,” said Patrick Jocelyn, director – EMEA, Autodesk Media and Entertainment. “With their direct industry links and customer contacts, working with Escape will be a great way for us to build up the user base and help establish this exciting new product.”
Toxik features advanced creative tools and integrated collaboration, bringing new capabilities to feature film production and redefining the way visual effects are created, managed and shared. Its collaborative engine offers a way to manage the complexity of film pipelines and automate time-consuming data management tasks.
Designed for creative users, Toxik’s image processing capabilities are built around its Ultra-High Resolution Interaction and High Dynamic Range Imagery (HDRI) core, allowing users to work interactively and intuitively with virtually any visual media, regardless of bit-depth or image size.
Toxik also features: Reaction, Autodesk’s next-generation 3D environment for interactive compositing; Suave, a high-quality software renderer; and an entirely new user interface (UI) paradigm called “Touch UI”. The advanced components of the Touch UI’s gestural interface keep the artist’s focus on the creative task by providing creative tools and options in context, and optimising flow through the various UI elements. The Touch UI scales to even the highest-resolution modern displays.
