De Lane Lea Studios buys VCube HD recorder/player

De Lane Lea Studios in Dean Street, Soho, has bought a VCube HD Video recorder/player from Merging Technologies distributors Total Audio Solutions.
An acclaimed post production facility, De Lane Lea Studios cater for the full scope of current mixing formats from television to digital cinema. The studios work to all international standards with fully automated consoles and the latest digital recording formats. The company provides quality and control of sound to give clients the flexibility to shape their soundtracks to a high level of detail and creativity.
Chief Operating Officer Ian Davidson explained: “We have had Merging’s Pyramix systems for several years so we are very comfortable with adding the new VCube technology. We have three Pyramix systems, two permanently installed in studios and one as a floating reserve. The VCube is a natural choice for us as it does exactly what we want it to do. I am sure we will be ordering more VCubes as the opportunity arises.”
VCube is an HD based video player/recorder system designed specifically for use in audio postproduction. VCube can operate as a standalone unit, or as part of a multi-system network fully integrated with Pyramix through standard Ethernet.
Like Pyramix it offers sync to PAL, NTSC, 24fps Film and all the HDTV frame rates. VCube can also be connected through 9-pin control or timecode chase to any third-party DAW system.
Total Audio Solutions’ Business Manager Paul Mortimer commented: “De Lane Lea have always invested in cutting edge technology. By investing in VCube they have once again shown that Merging Technologies are designing the products that are needed today.”
