CTV BUYS PRO-BEL PRODUCTS

CTV Television, Canada’s largest private broadcasters, have purchased two Chyron Pro-Bel large scale Eclipse routers, together with the advanced new Aurora Control system.
The 256x256 digital video and AES routers will handle CTV’s expanding broadcast service, resulting from the purchase of the Sports Network, and new speciality channels scheduled for September 2001.
It is anticipated that CTV Television will make use of Aurora’s tie line management option to route signals seamlessly between this new system and two other Pro-Bel systems, already installed in Toronto.
In addition to their two Pro-Bel HD routers, CTV Television also have Pro-Bel routing in their Vancouver facility.
Allan Morris, Vice-President of Engineering at CTV, said: “We are happy with our existing Pro-Bel installations, and knew the new system would be compatible. However, Pro-Bel were not the only company we approached and the contract was won in an open competition with four other manufacturers.”
The Pro-Bel contract is valued at approximately £335,000 when completed, and was conducted through Pro-Bel’s Canadian agents BSE. (CD)
