Twofour Productions appoints new Director of Broadcast

Twofour Productions has appointed Melanie Leach as its new Director of Broadcast.
Leach, who has been Director of Broadcast Development for the past three years, will take up her new position with immediate effect. Twofour is now advertising for a new Head of Broadcast Development to help the company on its expansion path.
Jill Lourie, Twofour's current Director of Broadcast has decided to step down, but she will remain with the company as a Non Executive Director on the board and as an Executive Producer on a number of key projects, including 3'0 hours of Daytime' for Channel 4, the third series of 'The City Gardener' (C4) and a number of series for Discovery.
"I am absolutely delighted that Melanie will be taking on this key role at such a crucial time for Twofour," said Charles Wace, Managing Director of Twofour Productions. "We have some major projects in the pipeline as well as a raft of big shows currently in production. Melanie's talent and energy will be central to ensuring that our broadcast department continues to grow, especially in the areas of features and factual entertainment which are her particular strength."
Leach said: "I am really looking forward to the challenge of being Director of Broadcast at Twofour.
"As Director of Broadcast Development I have been working with a brilliant team who are coming up with more and more programmes that are making it through the commissioning process. The opportunity to exploit these formats around the world is a challenge Twofour is keen to grasp and I hope this new structure will allow us to aggressively grow the company."
Leach began her television career in 1993 as a researcher. Since then she has worked in the role of producer and series producer on over 200 hours of terrestrial TV for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Channel 5. In addition to her development role as Director of Broadcast Development Melanie has been Executive Producer on all of twofour's youth and factual entertainment output with credits including 'Dead Famous' for Living TV and 'Accidents Can Happen' for BBC One.
