Dan Germain joins Root6 Technology

Industry veteran Dan Germain has joined UK-based Root6 Technology as International Channel Manager for ContentAgent-XR, the company’s new high-performance encoding platform launched with Microsoft at NAB.
In his career to date, Germain has held a number of high profile jobs in product management, serving originally with Quantel for more than ten years. On leaving the UK manufacturer, Germain worked at Avid in European Product Management roles for DS and DS HD.
In 2002 Germain moved to Australia with software VFX specialists eyeon where he served as Operations Director for Europe and Asia before establishing his own high-tech reselling operation.
“XR was one of the most exciting products at NAB,” claimed Germain. “Tapeless distribution is clearly the future, from Standard Definition video to HD and film resolution. Our technology is all about increased operational efficiency and direct cost savings - so you can bet we’re getting lots of attention. It’s an extremely exciting time.”
