Time Delay chosen for ‘Celebrity Love Island’

Having been a huge success at NAB, Time Delay.tv, EMEA’s only company dedicated to broadcast censorship of live TX shows, is currently bleeping on a far away Fijian Island for ‘Celebrity Love Island’.
Using a 1-78 second Prime Image.tv SD/HD Pipeline, the machine instantly cuts out profanities helping the show adhere Ofcom broadcast regulations - live editing at its very best.
Time Delay.tv has worked on many live, reality and entertainment shows in the UK, including ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get me out of here!’, ‘Love on a Saturday Night’, Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Take Away’ and ‘Hell’s Kitchen’.
In the USA the technology is used on the ‘Oscars’, ‘Emmys’ and ‘Superbowl’.
A five second delay is used on the live shows enabling the Pipeline to instantly cut sound/pictures or both, and inserting a secondary video/audio source.
As soon as the offending word is heard, a button is pressed for as long as the expletive occurs.
A built in reaction time is triggered, and five seconds later the word comes out clean.
All the operators are trained to work within broadcasting guidelines, being flexible to suit the needs of the production. However, the producers themselves can easily operate it with a simple button trigger.
For ‘Celebrity Love Island, two D1 Pipelines are used for both the main and backup feeds. A one button push by the operator activates both machines in tandem.
Darryl Rose, Managing Director, Time Delay.tv, said: "It’s always a real privilege to work alongside incredible production teams, on some of the most successful award winning shows of all time. They use TimeDelay.tv because production companies do not want to offend viewers by strong language especially pre watershed and in a live situation you just never know what is going to happen!"
TimeDelay.tv helps eliminate their fears, while the viewers at home will still watch a truly enjoyable show.
MBC4 in Dubai are looking at the technology to delay their live feeds from the USA by five seconds, making the transition from the USA commercial breaks to their own much smoother, since the element of surprise is removed.
