Tektronix provides video technology to Russian Broadcast Centre

Tektronix, a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced that prominent Russian broadcaster, Television Technical Centre Ostankino (TTC Ostankino), has chosen Tektronix video test and measurement products and associated training to deliver TTC Ostankino's rapidly increasing range of technical services to broadcasters and
programme producers.
TTC Ostankino is one of the largest broadcast providers in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and European Enterprise region and is equipped to provide the full range of services needed for the full television program production cycle and broadcast of up to 80,000 hours of television programs annually.
TTC Ostankino selected the Tektronix WFM700M multi-format, multi-standard waveform monitor to provide the capabilities needed in the production, post-production, distribution, and transmission of HD and SD digital video and audio content. TTC Ostankino also chose the Tektronix WFM601M, a measurement quality serial component monitor which features additional digital analysis capabilities important to those involved in the design, installation and maintenance of 270 MB component digital systems. A WVR611A waveform rasteriser was included to provide support for hybrid SD-SDI/Composite applications. All of these instruments are integrated with the Tektronix TG2000 signal generation platform, designed for the most stringent test applications. The TG2000 provides reference-quality test signals for TTC Ostnkino in all existing SD and HD video standards.
Specialists from TTC's Metrological department have been trained in the use of the Tektronix instruments at the Tektronix technical training centre in Cologne, Germany. With the training, they are now certified to perform precision calibration and required adjustments using the
Tektronix instruments.
