LAST CALL FOR WELSH SHORT FILMS

SGRIN, the media agency for Wales, have announced that the BAFTA Cymru Short Film Award is open to Welsh productions only and the closing date for entries is March 30.
To qualify, films must have substantial Welsh contributions to the following: initiation of production; finance; director; producer; writer and principal cast and crew.
The film can be fiction, documentary or drama documentary. Traditionally, the award is for work shot on 35mm, 16mm or 8mm film but in certain circumstances work originated in other media or using a mixture of techniques will be considered. However, all submissions must be finished on film and be available as a film print.
Films must be entered by companies or individuals, although student films must be submitted by the film school or college. Film schools and colleges are advised to send no more than three films, although in exceptional circumstances BAFTA Cymru may consider accepting up to two extra films per school.
Films must have been completed and screened publicly between January 1 and December 31 2000. The copyright notice must be dated within these dates.
The maximum running time allowed is 30 minutes and the films must not have been previously entered.
All entry forms should be submitted to BAFTA Cymru with a VHS video cassette by March 30 and a film print on either 35mm or 16mm must be available to the jury.
Prints of all nominated films will be required by April 15 for jury screenings and must be delivered to and collected from BAFTA Cymru, Chapter Arts Centre, Market Road, Canton, Cardiff, CF5 1QE. (CD)
