EYEHEIGHT LAUNCH ‘EYEDENTIFY’ SDI VERIFIER
WATFORD based manufacturer Eyeheight have announced the launch of their new ID-1000 eYeDentify, designed for use in a broadcaster's main transmission area to ensure total verification of an SDI signal source.
The ID-1000 takes in programme data and other information from a broadcast automation system and encodes it as auxiliary data in the vertical blanking interval of an SDI signal. The resulting data can be displayed as on-screen text. Highly robust encoding is used within the ID-1000 to ensure that the data can survive single or multiple compression paths.
The basic unit is dual mode, functioning either as encoder or decoder. In encode mode, the ID-1000 accepts data in the form of a 20 character (or more) ASCII text string from the RS-422 port of an automation system and outputs it as data on a 525/625 SDI stream. In decode mode, the unit converts the luminance signal from a transmitter and displays this as an ASCII text string which is then burnt in on screen.
Housed in Eyeheight's Uni-Box chassis, the ID-1000 occupies 1 U and is available now.
