Harris Corporation to showcase Atlas Analogue at NAB 2005

Harris Corporation's Broadcast Communications Division (BCD) will showcase its flexibility across the television industry's leading analogue and digital transmission standards at NAB 2005 with an expanded range of Atlas Analogue UHF solid-state transmitters.
The Atlas Analogue range is generating global interest with its cost-effective upgrade path to such digital standards as ATSC and DVB-T.
At NAB 2005, Harris will showcase a two-cabinet Atlas Analogue for the first time. The two-cabinet, higher-power Atlas Analogue models are quickly gaining popularity with customers replacing tube transmitters with more efficient solid-state technology.
Broadcasters in Russia, Brazil and the United States are currently on-air with Atlas Analogue, with more international shipments scheduled through the first half of 2005.
Available in power levels ranging from 2.5kW to 30kW, the Atlas Analogue is an excellent choice for terrestrial broadcasters who plan to operate in the analogue domain in the near term, but may want to convert to digital in the future. Broadcasters currently transmitting in PAL, NTSC and SECAM analogue can rely on the transmitter's common amplification design for simple and cost-effective upgrades to various digital standards. The compact footprint of Atlas Analogue transmitters is appealing to domestic and international broadcasters faced with limited transmitter facility space.
All Atlas Analogue transmitters feature a fully broadband and frequency-agile solid-state architecture that minimises maintenance procedures and allows the transmitters to work on any UHF channel. The Atlas Analogue also features Harris' industry leading DTV-660 analogue/digital exciter for migration to digital and use in modern IT infrastructure.
Also available as an option is Harris' eCDi enhanced transmitter remote network monitoring and control system. The transmitter's IT-oriented design addresses emerging requirements in the modern broadcast facility and provides broadcasters with PC-based remote monitoring from anywhere. Furthermore, its liquid-cooled design is central to operational-efficient power density and a reduction in air-conditioning requirements.
