ONE of Britain’s top young marketers, Andy Duncan, has been appointed BBC Director of Marketing and Communications.
He is currently European Category Director for Unilever’s Foods and Beverages Division, Andy, 38, will join the BBC in the early summer as a member of the organisation’s Executive Committee.
BBC Director General Greg Dyke said: “Andy is a first class marketer. His broad experience will bring new insight in developing and implementing a strong marketing strategy that will be absolutely central to the BBC’s progress over the next decade.”
Andy Duncan said: “I am really looking forward to joining the BBC and working with the team. It will be an enormously exciting challenge to maintain and strengthen its power and relevance in the 21st century.”
Duncan was previously Marketing Director and Board member of Van Den Bergh Foods. He was involved with and led award winning campaign such as ‘Flora’, ‘Olivio’, and ‘Batchelor’s Supernoodles’.(AMcE)
