Mi Broadcast supply Riedel Artist Intercom to BBC Resources

BBC Resources Outside Broadcasts have chosen Riedel Artist M Intercom for their latest Outside Broadcast Vehicle, Unit 12.
The system comprised a 104 port Digital Intercom Matrix with dual power supplies and controllers, GPI and AES Sync options and 24 control panels with eight character displays and individual level control per key.
Based of AES audio to the panel the system provides one or two channels of digital audio to and from the panel via a single CAT5 or Coax cable.
The 5U Artist frame has a fibre connectivity, which enables multiple frames to be connected together to form a non-blocking matrix of 1024 ports. For larger events Unit 12 will link via a single lightweight fibre optic cable to other trucks in the fleet, fitted with Artist systems, to create a single system for communications and audio distribution.
Unit 12 is a large double expanding OB unit with capacity for 20 cameras, eight digibeta and eight six channel LSMs. It will be used mainly for sports and events coverage.
The system was supplied by Mi Broadcast Ltd, UK and Ireland distributor for Riedel Communications. Integration was performed by Megahertz Broadcast Systems, who were responsible for the management, wiring, and installation of Unit 12.
