Mission Media opts for Aurora PipePro

Aurora Video Systems has announced that Idaho-based Mission Media is using Aurora's PipePro to create 'March for Families', a series of public service announcements that will be aired on the KTVB-TV News Channel 7.
Mission Media, which specialises in providing high-end production services to non-profit organisations, is working with its Aurora video capture and edit card to produce up to a dozen news spots emphasising good parenting and family skills.
"So many people have access to editing tools on the desktop, it takes real quality to differentiate one ad spot from another," said Mission Media Executive Director Michael Boerner. "We feel that it's important to give our work the look and feel typical of national-level broadcasts, and Aurora's PipePro allows us to achieve that goal and make our pieces look phenomenal."
The Aurora PipePro is a powerful and cost-effective video capture and edit card specifically designed to take full advantage of the Final Cut Pro RT Extreme architecture while providing the professional-level audio and video inputs and outputs that editors demand. This flexibility allows for a wide variety of compression and input/output options.
Aurora's Pipe family of cards represents a radical departure from traditional low-cost solutions. Aurora engineers have crafted a high-performance custom PCI interface specifically for video editing and production. Every aspect of these cards' PCI core is optimized to offer the highest performance in the latest G5 PCI-X environments.
"We appreciate Aurora's passion for the industry and the company's understanding of what it means to be a customer," continued Boerner. "Professional-grade tools like PipePro allow production houses to do more work in-house, a shift that requires integrating the card with third-party systems. Most smaller houses don't work with systems integrators or have their own engineer, so Aurora's understanding of how the Pipe cards work with various production systems is invaluable."
