HTV DRAMA SERIES WINS AT CELTIC FESTIVAL

‘Pen Tennyn’, (Enough is Enough) a six-part drama series made by HTV for S4C, won a top prize at the recent Celtic Film and Television Festival in Truro.
The programme won ‘Best Drama Series’ at the Festival, the award being received by the Producer, Peter Edwards, HTV Wales’ Head of Drama Development and the Series Writer, Gareth F Williams.
Shown on S4C last Autumn, 'Pen Tennyn', a story of family tensions leading to tragedy in a North Wales seaside town, was made as part of a collaboration between broadcasters in Wales, France, Germany, Norway and the Czech Republic. As part of the scheme it will be televised in the other countries. In France and Germany it will be shown next October.
Peter Edwards said: "It’s a gritty story and has gone down well with viewers. It uses new technology and it’s heartening that such new ideas can be incorporated into the production without compromising any of the original intentions. We’re absolutely delighted it won in Truro."
The series was directed by Gareth Lloyd Williams. (CD)
